My One and Only

September 5th, 2006
Reprise!, UCLA
Musical, we went with Troy

The infamous Tommy Tune Gershwin musical that got bad reviews on Broadway shines anew at Reprise! Reprise brings it to life with Michael Gruber, Rachel York, Betty Garrett and Vicki Lewis. A solid cast can make all the difference.

And for those of us who love theatre, the chance to see Betty Garrett tap dance at 87 years of age was a real privelege. She's still got it.

The other highlight for me was hearing Rachel York sing "How Long Has This Been Going On." All three of us agreed it was the best song of the evening. She has such control and grace and strength. Wish we could see her in more.

As always with Reprise, we were happy with the sheer talent, energy and charm of the cast.
