Southland Theatre Artists Goodwill Event (S.T.A.G.E.) is in its 22nd year of this impressive charity event. The theme was obviously Comden & Green, two of Broadway's most talented lyricists/book writers. The shows represented were: On the Town, Peter Pan, Bells Are Ringing, Singing in the Rain, Wonderful Town, On the Twentieth Century, Will Rogers Follies, Two on the Aisle, Hallelujah Baby, and of course, Do Re Mi.
It was nearly 4 hours of sparkling voices and performances. This event is clearly a well-oiled machine. And Bruce Vilanch was of course hilarious (watching him as the auctioneer during the auction was a hoot). I'll also add that seeing who was attending the performance was equally fun and entertaining.
But the real highlights: Judy Kaye, Tami Tappan Daimiano, Kevin Earley, Jo Anne Worley, Vicki Lewis and Christine Pedi. Everyone was great, but these people really blew me away. Esp. Judy Kaye.
An amazing event, but more importantly, an important benefit and charity supporting APLA and Project Hope. We will be returning every year, Universe willing.
