Gorey Stories

October 28th, 2005
Sacred Fools Theatre, Hollywood, CA
play, with a song or two

Taking the macabre and fanciful tales of author/artist Edward Gorey, and spinning them into laugh-out-loud entertaining theatre is no small feat ("A is for Amy who fell down the stairs, B is for Basil assaulted by bears...").

It helps that we love Edward Gorey's delightfully odd sense of humor. The costumes were wonderful, all done in pale grays and blacks, whites and offwhites, and adding to the gothicly humorous tone. Everyone was well-cast. The Art direction was superb. What a fun evening! Shame it can't be a Halloween tradition.
