We Will Rock You

April 29th, 2005

Las Vegas, The Paris

Musical

Well, there wasn't a lot playing in Vegas at this time. So, since B & I loved Queen, we thought, despite all the bad reviews, why not?

This is definitely a niche Juke-box musical.
Outlandish, and definitely not taking itself seriously, and critics felt likewise. It was solid (though long) when we saw it, with some notable improvements from the London roster of songs. I gave it an extra half star above solid/okay because the voices were brilliantly cast & very enjoyable, and the band reproduced Queen's unique sound faithfully (we were so happy about that).

That said, I probably wouldn't see it again. Personally, I think it's just for people who love musical theatre, and want to experience the gamut. We had a great time and already love the music, so we overlooked a lot for the sake of a good time. Enough said.
